20th Bear Brawl tips Dec. 20

The 20th annual Bear Brawl holiday basketball tournament opens Thursday with a girls game between Brunswick and Effingham County at 10 a. m. at Houston County High school. Here are the opening day matchups.

Girls games: Brunswick vs. Effingham County, 10 a. m.: Choctaw vs. Statesboro, 1 p. m.; Warner Shea McClellin Jersey Robins vs. Peach County, 4 p. m.; Hapeville vs. Houston County, 7 p. m.

Boys games: Choctaw vs. Hapeville, 11: 30 p. m.; Warner Robins vs. Richmond Academy, 2: 30 p. m.; Northside vs. Josey, 5: 30 p. m.; Houston County vs. Peach County, 8: 30 p. m.

Winning ugly
